For decades Macao has always combined its local heritage and variety of cultures. Universally acclaimed as one of the best events of its kind – the annual Macao International Fireworks Display Contest, takes place on the Macau Tower Shore-front from mid-September to 1st October every year, whilst the Macau Grand Prix, the most prestigious event on the local calendar and known as the world’s longest running Formula 3 event of its kind and the breeding ground of NEW legends, takes place every November.

Macao International Dragon Boat Races

The Dragon Boat Festival (which falls on the 5th day of the 5th month in Chinese Lunar Calendar) originally commemorated the ancient patriotic Chinese poet Qu Yuan, who protested corruption by drowning himself.

This international marathon, first hosted by Macao in 1981, continues to attract large numbers of local and international long distance runners.
